HashSpace has no membership fee. I don’t mind giving my time to run it, but the costs add up: the server it runs on and the social-network software. Your donations go straight to those bills. I hold a fundraiser once a year, and it closes when that year’s goal is reached.
How to donate #
- Open the Donate page. It’s also linked at the bottom of every page, and members see the fundraiser in the left sidebar. It shows the year’s costs, the goal and how much has been raised so far.
- Click Donate Now.
- Enter your name, email address and amount, and a comment if you’d like. Tick Make this an anonymous donation if you’d rather your name wasn’t shown.
- Click Submit Pledge. The form then shows where to send your donation (PayPal or Venmo), and you’ll get an email confirming your pledge.
- Send the money. Once I’ve received it, your donation is added to the thank-you list on the Donate page, as “Anonymous” if you chose that.
The Donate page is open to everyone, so you don’t need to be a member to give.
